HISTORICAL CENTER
The heart of the village is characterized by narrow, cobbled streets, ancient stone buildings and fascinating panoramic views. Walking through the center, you can admire the well-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture.
ETRUSCAN WALLS
Bettona is surrounded by ancient walls, partly Etruscan and partly Roman. These walls, restored and well preserved, offer an interesting testimony of the historical origins of the village.
CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE
It dates back to the 13th century and is one of the main places of worship in Bettona. Inside you can admire frescoes and works of art, including a splendid “Madonna with Child” attributed to Pietro di Cristoforo Vannucci, known as Perugino.
ART GALLERY
Located in the Palazzo del Podestà, this art gallery houses a collection of works of art ranging from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Among the works on display are paintings by important artists such as Perugino and Antonio Canova.
CHURCH OF SAN CRISPOLTO
This church is dedicated to the patron saint of Bettona, San Crispolto. Built in the 13th century, the church has an interesting Gothic façade and an interior rich in frescoes and decorations.
VIEWS AND NATURE
Bettona also offers splendid panoramic views of the surrounding Umbrian countryside. The surrounding woods are ideal for hiking or cycling, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature.
